Hardshell helmets are the most popular option for BMX and skating, where any impacts would likely be with a hard concrete surface. Hardshell helmets are much more rigid than standard cycling helmets, and typically have a lower profile on the rear and sides of the head for better coverage. One disadvantage of general hardshell helmets is that many have very restricted sizing, as many do not come with an adjustable inner cage. The Azur U80 is different for this fact: It has an adjustable internal cage to increase the range of heads each size will fit. For a growing child particularly, this is incredibly valuable, as the helmet can last for several years. The size is easily adjusted using a dial at the back, and the the straps can be tightened or loosened to fit.
